No connection from PC or Lightburn to the diode laser
Hello everyone,
I recently (10/2024) bought a Swiitol E24 PRO laser (I think it’s identical to the Atomstack…) that I want to use with an HP laptop with Windows 11.
My problem is that I can’t make contact with the diode laser with the laptop/Lightburn (GRBL)!
I checked the following: All plugs and cables, laser is straight and secure, laser can be switched on directly on the device, red LED lights up, USB on laptop updated via device manager and port CH341, driver installed via Lightburn and GRBL laser program (GRBL laser program then deleted from PC again, as it also cannot establish a connection to the laptop and therefore cannot get in the way of Lightburn!), tested various connections with GRBL in Lightburn…, driver installed FTDI………………………
Strangely, my PC in the office can establish a connection to the laser with a cable via GRBL-LBC (Lightburn says ready), so the problem must be with the HP laptop!?. As far as I know, I can use the Lightburn license on up to 2 PCs. The app (Burnlap) also works fine on the cell phone, but only works to a limited extent for operating the laser. Unfortunately, I can only use the laser in my workshop via the HP laptop!
As I don’t know what to do next, I need help from you - thank you in advance!
You have tried the different com ports and you only get waiting for connection in console?
And to be clear you have tried it with Lasergrbl and it doesn’t connect eighter?
Hi, I’m in the same situation with the same E24Pro Laser. Lightburn won’t see it, neither with a mac nor on my W11 PC. I only managed to perform some tests with LaserGRBL on windows10 with an older PC. Maybe try that ?
Small update on my side : a direct USB-C to USB-C cable won’t work ! I need to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter and then back an USB-A to USB-C cable in order to connect the laser to my mac. I am performing my very first engraving at this moment.
I have had the same issue with some electronics components (displays and controllers for DIY projects) that were poorly designed, something to do with a missing resistor somewhere on the board, and the usb-c socket seem to be broken… until i changed my perfectly functional cable for this weird dual-adater thing.
I suspect the E24 Pro may have the same flaw (well at least they put “Pro” in its name…) so you might want to try that ?
Buona giornata.
