No Output when sending jobs through Lightburn

Our office recently acquired a GU Eagle X-7050 Desktop CO2 Laser Engraving Machine and installed Lightburn to run the machine. We installed the drivers suggested to use Lightburn with this machine and tried to do some tutorial cuts from a YouTube video; But when we send the file to the machine to engrave and cut the laser moves where it needs to for the job, but it doesn’t have any power.

We tried running the same job with cardboard and there were no signs the laser had any power outputting. We also ran the same job with the same setup and settings in the default eagle laser software and had no issues. the cut came out fine. I’ve been browsing through threads but can seem to find a solution to why the laser wont output in Lightburn. Any help would be appreciated!

Could you upload your project file for us to take a look at?

Machine looks to have a Ruida controller, which we should support without issue. Typically first run issues are related to power settings or focus.

This is the file i used hope that came in correctly, I also tried running the material test and that yielded a similar result of the laser just moving above the material without actually cutting/engraving

Here’s the file in a different format, not sure which you would need.

So one of the neat ways you can use LightBurn to test if your file output is valid is by exporting that .rd file (as you have attached) then import that same file back into LightBurn.

When I do that, I see the file as the vector lines that would be read by the controller. It’s upside down because my work origin is different than that of your machine (don’t fret about it).

Have you tried running the job from a USB drive, or only via the ‘Send’ feature? Try running the .rd file with manual transfer, just to rule out the send side of the process.

Your power seems to be set to 20% - does the job run, but not make any result? Does the laser tube fire?

Have you tried setting the power to 60-70% and running the job?

I’ve tried via usb and the send feature, the jobs will send and appear on the machine and the laser will move in a way that it is following the cut file.

The job does run and I believe it’s firing but I think it has something to do with the power.
I have the power in Lightburn set to 80%min 100%max but when it transfers to the machine it changes the output to 20%.

I have a similar problem when running the material tests as well. It will run but doesn’t look to be firing

Interesting - it sounds like the power isn’t outputting to the .rd

Try setting your power to 80% and saving the file as .rd, then see if it comes through correctly.

I’m suspecting there may be a firmware limit that’s dropping the power if it’s set to 100% (you shouldn’t run your laser tube at 100%, it kills the tube quickly)

I tried to save as 80% it gave me the same results when running, the machine still dropped it to 20% when looking on its screen

Believe I figured it out. Lightburn selected laser 1 while the machine would run it if I used laser 2. After swapping that it seems to be running!
