No ungroup option

I have objects in my files that seem to be grouped together but there is no ungroup option. I have seen where you can use the break apart option and then elect each object and join them again. The would be fine if there was only a few objects but the one file I am working on has 100+ objects like this in it. Some objects are in groups and can be ungrouped other are grouped but have no ungroup option. Hitting CTRL+U a bunch of times has no effect.

If you’re unable to ungroup them it’s likely a compound path and cannot be “ungrouped” in that way.

You may be able to separate them in an external drawing tool like Inkscape.

Upload the file here if you would like a closer look.

They are completely separate objects. Here is some of the objects that can’t be ungrouped. This is a recent thing, this was not an issue when I first made this file with these objects which apparently about a year ago.

Were these drawn originally in LightBurn? I assume not.

I can confirm that these do appear to be compound shapes. Notice how in Edit Nodes mode that you can modify all nodes across all shapes.

I was able to remedy this by exporting to SVG, opening in Inkscape and doing Path->Break Apart.

Take a look.

Go to / Arrange / Break Apart. This will ungroup everything including the text. You could then select the text and regroup them. ( Or just write new text in place.
