Noisy control board

I know this isn’t a light burn software problem, but I wondered if someone could help me the fan on my control board for my laser is making a really loud buzzing noise, even when switched off when connected to the computer, does anyone know a troubleshoot that I can do to stop this noise from happening, please thank you so much

grbl controllers often times get 5VDC power from the computer connected USB port. The CNC motor drivers, and usually cooling fans, are powered by a separate power brick of higher voltage.

Double check connections per the user manual.
If this is something that began recently with no changes to the system, and it worked fine prior, then perhaps the fan is shot.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. Are the fans replaceable? And if so where can I get them from?

you’re welcome.

contact the mfg.

If it’s the fan, it probably has wires that are striking the fan when it runs.

You can open it up and move the wires… if it’s the fan itself, you may have to replace it… If it’s in warranty, then I’d suggest going back to the vendor and see if they will do something for you.

Just out of curiosity… how does it make noise when off?

A video is usually good for this as we can’t see nor hear the issues.

If you can video it on your phone, you can upload the video to something like Google Drive and just post a link here.

It wasn’t let me send a video

You have to upload it to some other place, such as google drive. Then you can post a link to your google drive here…

Ensure you set the permissions to the file so anyone with the link can view or access it.
