Non-Boolean Cuts via Pencil Tool

I created two concentric circles using the circle tool and grouped them together.

Then, I created a notch shape using the pencil tool and arranged copies around the circle in hopes of cutting the circle into four congruent pieces.

How can I cut any pencil-tooled line across an object?

I tried to create nodes and “break” (B) at the nodes in question with hopes of joining/welding after the cut, but that didn’t work.

Also, I noticed that the align tools don’t seem to work with two pencil-drawn shapes (e.g. the notch shape and a straight line).

These are tool paths, can’t have three lines intersecting or tied to one point.

Might want to cut the notches first then the curve…

I’m not sure that my brain follows that (after abundant helpings of turkey). However, I was able to accomplish what I wanted by a different workaround.

Here is what I was wanting to accomplish:

I did it by dividing the circle into quarters and then using an equilateral triangle with a boolean merge to create the complementary notch and the tab.
