Hello friends, I have a problem with my Laser Atomstack S20Pro 20w - Blue laser. The laser does not engrave at power up to 0-20% and also does not engrave at speeds above 3000mm/m.-20000mm/m. For a better understanding, I created an engraving test. Birch plywood MDF 4mm is used. The task is completed normally. It does not report any errors. I am using the latest version of Lightburn - official. The PC is an older Toshiba laptop, Windows 10. I think the software settings will be wrong. For any advice, Thank you. Karol
Is your question if that is ok? That doesn’t sound too weird. It depends on the material and environment if the laser leaves a trace on the material. So below 20% it’s just too few power. And engraving is usually done up to 6000mm/min. More doesn’t make sense in most cases.
30000-20000 speed seems awfully high to me I have a 35 watt laser and i typically engrave birch plywood at 1200 to 2400 at 25% power. I probably could go faster at higher power if i wanted
if I want to engrave anodized black aluminum, a speed of 6000mm/m has worked for me. If I want to cut paper, 15% power and a speed of 1500mm/m are enough. I changed the PC and set something wrong. At a speed above 3000mm/m it does nothing. The laser shines at 3% like when framing, the same thing happens if the power is below 20%. If I use LaserGRBL everything is fine, there I engrave 18% and 3600mm/m.
Then make sure you really use mm/min and not mm/s. Another thing to check is that you added the device as grbl and not grbl-m3. In the latter case, the s-value max in device setting is set to 255 which leads to only 25% of usable power. Check that this is set to 1000.
Thank you, yes the note is set to 1000, the connection is classic GRBL
