Not Finding Laser on reconnection

Hi,

This is my first attempt at using a forum, so please forgive me if I get it wrong.

My laser printer is being a bit problematic, in that every time I reconnect my laser to my laptop it is not reconnecting. I end up having to uninstall my laser and go through the start up process again. I think the error code is com port already in use. I think that I have now removed an reinstalled my laser printer circa 10 times now.

Surely this can not be correct, what am I missing? Is there a set sequence that the laser must be connected and started up?

I’m at a loss as to what to try next.

Right click on the device where the com port is listed. My laser connects to Com3… But my PC and light burn default to com12.

Here is what I have to do every time I start up lightburn:

Boot LB
Turn on laser
Left click com12 to open port select menu
Click on com3
Now go throw lasers like a champion!

As James mentioned, most likely the wrong COM port is selected. Check the Windows device manager which port has been assigned.
No need to re-install anything. There is nothing like a startup sequence. You can start and stop the software or laser at any time and reconnect as you like.
