New here, is there a way to fill an object with a pattern? I want to have this rose pattern inside this object but wondering what the easiest way to do it is. I have searched but haven’t found anything. Any help would be great. Thank you so much!!!
If your pattern is an image (jpg, png), place the shape over the image, click off the shape, select the image then shift select the shape. Right click and choose apply mask to image. Now you can move the image around behind the mask for placement. ?When yoiu’re satisfied with the placement, right click and choose flatten image mask.
OMG you are a life saver!!! Thank you so much!!!
One last quick thing. How do I change that from image to line? I just want to trace the roses inside the shape, it is acting like it will shade the entire thing. Again, thank you so much!
You will need to trace the image to convert it to lines.
I have it traced and into lines but now it doesnt give me an option to mask it so the pattern is just inside the shape.
That’s because it’s a vector after tracing. There is a different procedure for that. Select the graphic, then shift select the shape. Go to tools menu> Cut shapes. You can then delete the outer portion. If you wish to keep the outer shape, duplicate it before the cut operation as it will disappear. One more thing, if you want to fill the lines of the flowers, make sure you are in fill mode before cut shapes, otherwise each cut will be an open shape and fill won’t work properly.
Since it’s been traced and now it’s a vector, another option is to try using the Boolean operation.
