Basically at my wits end with this laser. Ortur laser master 2, upgrade to 10w ortur module. If I turn bi-directional fill on, the horizontal spacing between lines is uneven. You can see 2 lines closer together, then a gap, a line, than it repeats. Bi-directional fill off and line spacing is perfect. First pic top is bi-directional on, bottom is turned off.
I’ve checked and rechecked all belts, pulleys, connections. Disassembled and reassembled twice now. Issue persists in the exact same way no matter what. I’ve swapped motors, belts, power supplies. Multiple materials tested on, I’ve lowered my machine accel. And speed. Tried increasing overscanning to over 30%+. Turned off fast whitespace and on. Multiple lpi settings. Lower values just make it easier to see, doesn’t change anything. I’ve enabled scanning offset which helped get the ends of the lines lined up but did not help the horizontal spacing.
Here is a post on the lightburn forums, user was having the exact same, and I mean picture perfect, exact same problem. Different type of laser, controller. Different system all together but the exact same issue which seems weird to me
What is your line space set to? Lines per inch should be 245 or .1mm interval. You may have the odd spacing because of interpolation between your settings and what the controller and motors are able to resolve
I normally set it to 0.1 interval. That was the best setting I found and what was recommended for my diode. In these photos line spacing is set to 0.5mm just so it’s easier to see. The gaps tighten up when I lower it but they still seemed grouped in doubles if that makes sense. Two lines close together, followed by a space than 2 lines again.
Ah I’m sorry. Always scanning on x axis as I was told it’s better for my laser long term in terms of wear on motors and such. Anyway, yes x axis scanning. The one picture is just rotated as my phone was not playing nice tonight. Sorry about that.
