I am trying to do an offset fill for a background and the software locks up at 6%. It just sits there and takes forever to close once it locks. Any suggestions for what I am doing wrong?
There’s shapes that do not do well in offset fill. The math and mapping can be quite intensive for the program to work out.
If you must use offset fill for a large or odd shaped area, try to break it into a few smaller pieces.
A 4 leaf clover is one shap that over whelms the program. I have several 4-H designs that cannot be done if offset fill.

I have had some success fixing the problem by using the “Optimize Selected Shapes” tool found in the edit dropdown menu.
You can use the Fit shapes to lines & Fit shapes to arcs sliders to reduce the number of nodes used and that seems to speed things up a bit.
You have to be careful though, you can distort curves if you push it too far.
Likely, what you are doing wrong is using Offset Fill. It’s designed for specific use cases. If you have a complicated design, it can take a lot of time to try and generate the offsets. I’d recommend taking a look at the Offset Fill section of the manual that describes it’s usage here:
