so just updated the latest version few days ago and it’s been working fine, then I needed to use the offset tool on a trace of some artwork i was working on for a customer and it locked up. I restarted it and went to the same artwork traced it again then went to the offset tool and it did it again. I restarted it and chose a different line trace that I had done weeks ago and it did it again, it locks up and says that Lightburn isn’t responding but only if i use the offset tool. Has anyone else had this issue? if so what was the fix for it.
updated on problem, it seems that the problem was the last job offset settings were too large for the image i had loaded next for all the small parts of the logo and was causing a problem. thanks, again to the people here for the help in my overlooking of this problem.
I think the developers will be happy,( not for the bug ), but to be able to get your crash report and the file you were working with to reproduce the process and troubleshoot. You can send it to : support@lightburnsoftware.com
i tried it again and it said it wasn’t responding left it alone while i was responding and went back to it and it now has an offset bubble from last settings. but why the long lag and the not responding error
My guess is that it’s a very complex image with a lot of small shapes and that large of an offset is causing it to choke. The shapes overlap considerably with that amount of offset.
I agree with @thelmuth - too many small shapes, and a very large offset. I could get it to offset with the below settings, but the results were not good.
ok so just tried that and I can do to text down below and the name on top and i works just fine no problem do the whole image and trips the error again
*Check for and remove duplicate shapes.
**Simplify results.
***Make the object considerably larger, then do the offset and then shrink it back to your desired shape.
**** Select offset outer shapes only
yeah, i opened another image that i had open when i needed that offset and decreased the number to 0.02 and then reopened the restaurant file and it worked just fine. I think y’all figured it out
