I am using a Commaker Omni 1 UV and Commarker R5 Rotary. Learning a lot and getting some beginner results but one thing has me stumped. When I set the steps per rotation in Lightburn for 12,800 which is what the instructions call for, and set the diameter of my object (65 mm) and do the test. The rotary only rotates a quarter of the way and any engraving does not work properly. The only way I can seem to get close to a full rotation is if I put in around 64000 steps per rotation. Unfortunately, this is not a precise figure and seems to vary per object.
I noticed in Lightburn 2.0.05 the Rotary settings for Object Diameter say âWith a Roller Rotary the next two values are NOT usedâ. This is referring to Object Diameter and Circumference. How then does it know if it has rotated the object all the way around?

If you are using the roller rotary, the test is if the roller itself rotates 360deg, so make sure no object is present.
You are correct - it will not know, until you observe the rotation for the âTestâ and confirm the correct number of steps per rotation, and the diameter of the roller. From that point forward LightBurn will have all it needs to know - regardless of the object diameter - because the surface of the object always will be moving at the same rate as the surface of the roller. Then, if needed for your design you can use the âhelpful calculatorâ to work out the size of design needed that would cause the object to rotate the full way around.
Sorry, I got stuck on the information I saw saying the object should rotate 360 degrees. I used the original recommneded value of 12,800 and it did work fine this time. Previously when I used that value it didnât work but I must have had something else wrong during that test.
