I have an OMtech 130 watt and for what ever reason choosing Red or Black as a line cut will cut, another color will. Red or Black will engrave just fine. Any recommendations as to why
Colors of layers do not relate to their use, that’s user defined.
You have to set whatever the layer you’re using to the correct values (speed/power) in the cut/layers edit window to perform how you wish.
You can use the library to store layer setting for specific purposes.
Make sense?
@jkwilborn said the magic words, user defined. Think of colors as layers of operations. In each layer, you define the laser settings for what will happen when that particular color in your drawing is executed.
You can assign whatever color you want to a particular part of the drawing. For example, I use black for etching or engraving, blue for text, and red for cutting. I then go in and set the values I want for each operation.
The beauty of this is I can turn off Layers to see how it is going to move in the Preview window, That is a good way to catch mistakes.
