OMTECH LASER Stops FIRING over 50% Power Why??

My Omtech Laser that we got a month ago will on work on settings over 50% power. It will not cut if the setting is lower. We need to cut acryllic at a 30% power setting and have to do it at 60% which isnt ideal. Can anyone help?

I have not changed a thing since we got it 1 month ago. The strange thing is it was working fine the first two weeks and then stopped firing mid cut. The machine kept running but there was no longer any cutting. Since then, nothing. Material would be acyrlic 1/8 " and wattage is 130

Your profile indicates OMtech with a GRBL controller, which is typically not what’s controlling a 130 W laser. I’m assuming you have a 130 W CO₂ laser with a Ruida controller.

“Stopped firing mid-cut” generally indicates the high-voltage power supply has failed, so get a warranty issue started with OMTech right away. They’ll have you do some diagnostics, but if you go along with them you should get a new power supply out of it.

As a quick check, pulse the laser manually from the machine’s front-panel display at different power levels to show that it does not work at low levels, which removes LightBurn from the problem. If the power supply has a built-in current meter, record the current for each power level.

Thanks for your response. Currently working with Omtech and have been back and forth a few times. Appreciate your help
