OmTech Solis Rotary Attachment

Hi Everyone

Has anyone used the new OmTech Solis laser with a rotary attachment? I can not get it to work. Any ideas.

Thank You

OMTech claims that it’s compatible with Lightburn. Did the vendor of the rotary or xTool not include any information on how to set it up?

I’d only be guessing and don’t really know the innards…

Maybe one of the Lightburn can assist.

Hang in there.

I got it from Omtech and yes they did but it doesn’t work.

It doesn’t work is not anything I can use to help you. What was the intructions and what kind of results did you get?

In other words you have to tell us more about what you have done to get it to work and what is isn’t doing.

First of all I can not stop the laser from moving in the Y direction and second how do I focus the laser when the rotary is fasten in the center of the laser. Right now I have a working height of 4" but the laser does not go high enough to focus it. I am confused. It should have 9.8" x 9.8" x 8.07" working area.

What instructions did you follow? Do you have a link?

Usually the rotary replaces the Y axes, so how do you hook up the rotary? I’m not really familiar with these machines.

Seems like there are a number of issues with these. Might try this facebook group. Read the thread, same issues you are having.

This is the fiber laser DUO, right?

You probably need to raise up the laser top, usually with an extension of some sort. Or you can cut a hole in the base and put the rotary under that, then laser through the hole. Some fiber or galvo machines already have the hole in the base. It is also like the Sculpfun iCube series.

Hi

Is it possible to make the Origin point to the center on a galvo machine in lightburn. In OmTech labs its in the center and in lightburn its on front left side. I would like it to be center.

Thank You
