One layer with more than 1 set of settings. Not sub-layers

Has anyone else noticed this? I just realized this today and seems a bit strange.
I can put an image on a layer with one set of settings and text or whatever (not another image) with a different set of settings on the same layer.
Maybe it was always there, but I do not recall ever seeing it before.
Tried it on 00 and 01. Same.

Oh, shows as 2 layers in cut settings.

Image and non-image modes are managed separately so you can have one of each for a given layer. It’s been this way for as long as I’m aware.
