Ok, so i decided to cut some laser safe 3mm plywood tonight for some new high powered rocket fins.
my current settings that worked with a focused laser using the 19mm aluminum buck:
1000mm/min
95% power
16 passes
air assist on
16 passes is clean 95% of the way
this seems like an awful lot of passes for my laser to cut 3mm plywood??
i have it leveled, and weighed down on a cutting rack as to make sure the plywood is the same height all the way through the cutting process

I think you’re running way too fast. On my 10 watt I cut 3mm in the 150-200 mm/min, 80-100% power. Single pass.

My 10w does 2.8mm Baltic ply in 4 passes, 800mm/m and 85% power. Yes, way too fast.

dang, ok i will slow it down. looks like the person on FB told me wrong by accident.
ill slow it down to about 150mm/min, 90% power and 3 to 4 passes and see what happens
thanks for this

I would guess 300mm/m would be a good starting speed.
General rule is more passes reduces burning, especially with air assist, and is sometimes even faster.
