Ortur Master Pro2 won't work for projects

Hi,
I’m new to this and not very bright. However when I use lightburn (I have a Mac) I turn it on and can use the move and home buttons with no problem. Then when I try to Frame ot start I get error message. I’m adding the code from the console:

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

let’s call @OrturTech  (sorry Gil for always calling you… but are all Ortur machines  )

Thats why i am here for

@Olliequ Favour please
In console type this for me
$#
press enter
(repeat if it gives you EEPROM error)

Do you see ANY line that shows different from X0 Y0
Particularly G92 G59?
If so, same place type
$RST=*
press enter
right after it says
[MSG restoring defaults]
Press reset button on your mother board and power again

$# again … all values X0 Y0?

Aditionally, what type of Job Start from you using? Absolute coordenates, or current position, or worse user defined?

If you haven’t already done so, change your Start From setting in the Laser window to “Absolute Coords”. This means that what you see in your LightBurn workspace will match where the laser heads moves on the bed.

If this doesn’t work please include a full screenshot of LightBurn.

I got the reset error and re-entered $# these are the results:

The project is a burn the cut 30 x 40 mm image.

No offset so must be job start type
in Laser panel what type of coordenates
Absolute position?

@Gil, what do those scattered G59 messages mean? Was trying to figure out why it would show like that.

G54 to G59 are Work offsets, on the G59 you can have 4, G59 G59.1 G59.2 G59.3
Depends greatly how firmware is setup

Mostly very handy for CNC machining. not as much on Laser engraving

Oh got it. I was misreading the .1 .2 .3. Not sure why a G59.6 though.

I think I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was starting from the bottom right corner x=0, y=0 and I was going to cut it out at the end. I believe I had the cut line just over the zero line slightly into the negative space. I think x or y=-0.001 in as good as a mile out of bounds. I moved the image to about x=5, y=5 and it worked fine.
When I bought the machine it came with some metal tags. I have been trying to engrave my daughters dog’s name on the pink bone dog tag. I haven’t been able to make a visible mark on it yet. I’m running it now at 50mm/min 100% and it is doing nothing but using up time. Is there something I have to do to prepare it before doing the engraving? I tried coating it with black acrylic paint and it didn’t seem to help.
Finally, is there somewhere I can get some of the hardware (nuts and screws) that didn’t come with the machine.

Glad you worked it out.

Yes. This is certainly true.

However, this line has me confused. Your origin should be to the bottom left, not the right. The same corner that the head homes to for your model.

Are you able to use the move buttons where left moves left, right moves right, up moves up, and down moves down?

Where is your origin set in Device Settings?

This is where all experimentation and research is going to come to play. There are many topics in this forum that explore this that I encourage you to search. In general trying to engrave metal is difficult and some argue that diode lasers aren’t actually engraving in those cases. I think Ortur specifies using a black marker as surface prep but do your research.

I’d start with where you bought the machine. If that doesn’t work, then ortur support:
Ortur Customer Support – Ortur Support Ticketing System

Or if you want to go it alone most of the parts that Ortur uses are common in the 3d printing world so just search around in that space.

This is true. I’m old and like I said “not very bright”. It is bottom left.

Ah… All good. Glad there wasn’t a bigger problem.

Thank you. this has been extremely helpful. I love playing with this, learning how to use it effectively is a challenge that I enjoy.
