Ortur rotary chuck not working

Wonder if someone can help. I have an Ortur chuck. When I used it on and old Arduino controller board it worked well. I have upgraded my controller board to a MKS DLC32 V2.1 controller board and now it doesn’t work. When I do a test the rotary just “jitters”. I must be missing a setting?

Most likely the maximum acceleration or speed for that axis is set much too high for a rotary, so the motor stalls when commanded to move at whatever speed the Test routine uses.

Save the current settings, perhaps in a file named “Linear”, reduce both $121 and $111 (assuming it’s on the Y axis) by a factor of ten or so, then tune for best results.

If what @ednisley describes does not solve your problem. it is possible the stepper motor socked on the new board is different from the old board. What you also describe is a symptom of a wiring error to the stepper motor. The two inner pins of the plug at the rotary need to be switched, BUT…

If you are using a Yaxis for the output to the rotary and the Yaxis is okay, you will need to make up a cross-over patch cable instead.
