I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Does anyone know where I can find the FT245R USB FIFO driver. Also is this a problem with my pc or the controller? If it’s with the controller can I fix it?
This is not my wheel house so take it easy on me. Detailed instructions would be really helpful.

The device (laser controller) never changes - the driver is purely the PC end of the equation.
Always use FTDI’s own drivers from their website or from Microsoft, don’t download from those awful driver sites - you have no idea what you’re getting.
