I’m using my C02 laser. My speed is 200 mm/s and at 7.5 percent power. I don’t understand why the outer border of the letters isn’t filling? I’ve tried raising my DPI and it does not help.
I guess your laser is too slow to fully fire at that short distance. I don’t have a Ruida, though I think there is an option somewhere to make the laser fire slightly before it reaches its position.
It is, I made the outer border it’s own layer and it worked much better.
Typical CO₂ laser tubes fire reliably only above (about) 10% of full power, with higher-wattage tubes having even higher minimum power.
Because the tube is just barely firing, increasing the power to 10% may solve the immediate problem.
The minimum power for reliable firing depends strongly on the coolant temperature, so what works now may not work in mid-summer or mid-winter.
