Hey all, 1st post. basically just getting started with my laser and doing some testing for my 1st project. Ive done some playing around with the laser but just basic marking stuff and never checked output scale till now The output/marked scale is to large. If I make a 1-inch circle and output it’s about .270 to large so 1.270 Di. My preference is to work in inches for artwork inside LB but settings for F&S im ok with using mm settings since I know this industry usually uses mm/sec for speed settings. I get the same results with the project file that Im working on. This file is coming from CAD software as a DXF and the size is 1.373 in CAD but when marked it is 1.73 in diameter.
Strange that the output is off in scale because I thought I had everything set up correctly. What is going on here?
Right I do remember this from the 1st video for Lightburn crash course from Alex at Laser Everything, BUT actually, the owner of the company who I bought the machine from helped me get the machine up and running when I set it up. Sounds like he forgot to do this?
Yes machine is new, set up about 2 months ago but just getting to learning it now. I never checked the output scale when he set it up.
I can rewatch the video but can you point out where to load the config file?
Pretty strange, but the configuration was actually all set up, I never changed anything since Andrew from Lasers Only set up the machine for me. BUT there was something wrong with that setup.
I made a new lens config file, did a test and the scale is fixed now. Strange cuz the work area size was the same for both config files.
Don’t know what this affects internally, but the size comes from these files and with new lenses, I’ve seen some strange work areas come out of the software…
Did a lens with one of videos using Lightburn for lens correction. It was a pain, did the last two, stealing the spouses Windows machine and use EZCads CoreFile2 software… much more simple, but you can’t change something like the work area or coverage…
You can see where these items are grayed out and the coverage, for an F254mm lens is 175mm square… Notice width and height…
