Overlapping letters in Arabic text

I need help figuring out how to solve this problem. As you see in the attached screenshot, there are areas where letters connect but it won’t fill by LB.

My current sequence is as follows:

  1. Convert pdf file to SVG using Inkscape
  2. Import SVG to LB
  3. Set Fill for the text layer

If I select the text and click on Weld in LB is won’t do anything.

Can you post file?

@Dskall thanks for your message. I found that “Union” can be done at Inkscape and resolved the issue.

LB also can do that, you have a weld option at the font options:

@misken Thanks, but LB does poor job in that, see below screenshot where the red x indicate a missing inner path.

Also notice that the 3rd line there are two “connections” but only succeeded in one.
My text is very complicated and demanding, however Inkscape worked fine.

I don’t understand what you are showing there, the text is not welded, and you tried to put an offset around? That has nothing to do with the text welding. Maybe I don’t get the operations correctly.

But anyhow, if you found a workflow using Inkscape, that’s perfect.

@misken Thanks.
I select the text layer, and then clicked the weld button, I got what you see.
The text is imported through SVG file, so perhaps LB may behave differently than writing a text using LB text tool.
