Overlapping Shape Creation

Does anyone know of a way to edit overlapping lines like this video?

I can do it by making some half circles and using the boolean tool a bunch of times, but it looks a lot quicker in the video.

Thanks in advance

Duplicate and move copy into position

Select everything and convert to path

Draw line between centres (used as an aide to trimming)

Use node editor to trim unwanted segments and break where needed. “Auto-Join” segments together then use “Close Path”

I’m sure someone else will come up with a more elegant method but that’s what I came up with.

Yes, shape builder is much easier! I think there was some mention of similar functionality in a upcoming release of LB but I could well have dreamt that!

Thanks, the line in the middle does help for this example, I’ll see if it helps with more complicated designs too.

Walking the fine line of user friendly and overly complex.
I like the low learning curve of Lightburn, but there are sacrifices.
I heard that a future release of Lightburn will give control of what icons you want on desktop.
I think this will have the benefit of adding more complex functions while allowing users to pick the functions they use.
This I believe could maintain the low learning curve and intimidation factor while also making Lightburn a more powerful CAD.
