Pergear LaserStorm S10 won't connect

Good Day:
I have a Pergear LaserStorm S10 that I cannot seem to find a way for Lightburn to recognize it. It is hooked up via a USB cable. It has worked in the past, but since I moved the machine it is being difficult.

I have tried the following:
*3 different USB Cables (2 old ones, 1 brand new)
*Updating the CH340 to the latest (2024-09-16 3.9.2024.9)
*Downgrading the CH340 (08/08/2014, 3.4.2014.08)
*I am using a Lenova Thinkpad Laptop with Windows 11.
*Previously I had a HP Windows 10 Laptop that also did not connect it.

I am really a beginner in this and have had the machine for a couple of years and only printed one design. I would like to either figure out how to use this, or send it off to the recycler who can have fun destroying it.

Thanks in advance,
Canadian Ken

Make sure the emergency stop button is not engaged.

Try using the controller’s touch screen to jog the axis, or to run a small test job directly from the sd card in “offline mode”.

Is that thing on the right of the power switch a key switch?

On the left is the Emergency Stop Button, then the Power Cable, USB Cable and then the power button that looks like a key switch but is just a push button.

Because the power & USB cables stick up vertically from the “control panel” on the laser, they put an absurd amount of stress on their connectors.

The USB connector may be damaged or its solder connection to the controller PCB may be broken. This is not a consumer-repairable problem, but if you have a friend (or a local makerspace) with some soldering experience, it’s do-able.

Before doing that, though, copy-n-paste the contents of the Console window showing what happens when you (attempt to) connect the machine. Screenshots of the Laser window showing the connection info will also be helpful.
