Hi - Trying to use a MECPOW X3 10W diode laser to cut out a portion of a photo to use in making a holiday card. I use Inkscape to create an svg file (import photo jpg to Inkscape, outline cut lines around the kids, draw and 8.5 x 11 inch rectangle around the image, save as svg). Next, import svg into Lightburn. Cut the rectangle out of a piece of 3mm wood. Place the 8.5x11 inch photo in the rectangle wood frame. Try to set the origin point for the laser to a spot on the photo and then cut. The outline of the photo cuts the photo but I can’t get the outline cut to exactly trace the part of the photo I’m trying to cut out. The cut is off by a few mm’s. Trying to determine best way to set the origin and then cut from there. Can’t figure it out! Any help? Thanks.
If I´m understanding maybe this can help:
Tape a piece of cardboard by the left side and on the left side of your honeycomb that cover more or less the place where you gone make your cut.
Run the cut, remove the piece cut, lift a little the cardboard by the right side, place the photo under and adjust position, rerun the cut.
