Anyone know how to burn an image on a tumbler? Basic powder coat tumber. I want to put a dog as an image. Will it work the same as wood engraving image? I know I can test but didn’t want to screw up yet another tumbler…
Welcome aboard…
If it’s set up correctly the only difference, besides setting of speed/power would be a minor controller adjustment of values.
It might take an adjustment to some of the acceleration values… this is pretty simple…
I use black tape, low power on the fiber and co2 rotaries I have to see what it’s going to do before I waste another mug… This is fiddly, as a more powerful laser usually has a more difficult time with extra low power… I run mine about 9% which is dead bottom and may not lase, depending on temperature…
This is my PiBurn… on a OMTech China Blue using LBT100 spray.
Since the power of your machine and if it’s RF or DC excited can’t be determined by your profile… It’s hard to comment…
In a nutshell, the rotary is another Y table, when it steps the in the Y direction instead of moving the head, it moves the rotary or the equivalent of the Y axes…
Make sense?
You will eat a few of the mugs, anything you try, usually requires previous experience or that you get experienced… the ol’ catch 22…
The more you do it the faster you will come up with the proper settings.
