When I try to print an image the image is not clear/ When I look at the image I can see each line from the laser pass. Is there a setting for pictures I am missing. I do have image selected and the mode is set for image. I also have air assist. I am wondering if there is something like “constant power” some where I need to change. I am using the default of 254DPI. I am also brand new to lightburn
These are worth review.
If you can share what you are starting with, the current settings assigned, and the results you have achieved, we might be in a better position to offer direct feedback to you.
Thanks for the quick reply. Here are the settings I am using along with a picture of the output.
I am also using an Atomstack A20 pro laser
I am hoping you can see what I mean by lines in the image.jpg. The image is just a black and white image
Post a screen grab of your PREVIEW -
For Vector graphics, I like to add a LINE only layer to tie loose ends together. For an image burn, you maybe need to work on your alignment. Where the left to right lines start and stop at the same place as the right to left lines - the technical name escapes me at the moment.
I support the concept of adding a borderline, as James suggests. I would also adjust the ‘Interval’ to produce more lines per inch, filling the shape a bit more. Doing an ‘Interval Test’ for your specific laser and material combination will also help significantly with getting what you are after.
Thanks this video was great. I actually bought the library but I am still stuck with not being able to change the image to engrave. Once I bring an image in there is no way to change the mode. It is greyed out. There seems to be now setting available for line after fill.
When LightBurn sees an image, it is placed on an image layer, which cannot be changed. To adjust how that image is produced, the ‘Image Mode’ (Threshold, Ordered, Atkinson, Dither, Stucki, Jarvis, Newsprint, Halftone, Sketch or Grayscale) is chosen below the ‘Dot width correction’, highlighted with a red rectangle.
Are there any videos or instructions anywhere for doing line after burn with Lightburn V1.3.01. All the videos and tutorials I seem to find are using settings that are just not there in this version.
In addition, I share a project we suggest for learning exactly this. Take a look and let us know how you progress.
Thank you all for your input. I now have the basics I need to get started and I am having a blast learning how to use Lightburn
