Plant Label Template please

Hi, Total Newbie here. I’m looking for a template that I can fill in to laser engrave anodised aluminium or acrylic to look like this:

Apologies - link to example here:

I think you are generally expected to create your own artwork…

We can help you with artwork problems or how it’s working on the laser, but most people don’t do ‘jobs’ for others for free … if that’s the question…

Might want to reword or phrase the question differently if I have it wrong…

:smile_cat:

Hi Jack, my apologies - I should have been clearer. The plant labels formats are in an old and well-established format and I was hoping there was another keen gardener who had already formatted them for Lightburn to save me a steep learning curve.

If that format is written down somewhere accessible it shouldn’t be too tough.

The ‘First Project’ videos use a QR code and some text to allow a host to offer WiFi access to guests.

This walk-through should cover about 90% of what you’re doing.

Thanks John, I will give that a try.

@CoolHouse How many plants do you want to catalog? The company in your link offers a free tier of service for cataloging plants then helps you export the data so that you can apply many of the suggestions other members have made.

They no longer generate the tags you reference

Plants Map no longer manufactures interactive tags and signs but you can use your My Tags page to organize an order to print at any company who manufactures tags and signs. We maintain a list of companies that we learn about that can make high quality signs and we will be keeping that list updated below.

To organize an order to send to another printing company, click on your My Plants Map library link at the top of the site. You’ll need to use a full size browser to access the My Tags link in the top center of the page.

On this page, you can click the Add button on the top right and you can find the plant pages that need a sign and add them to the My Tags page list. Once you have your plants on the page, you can use the menu drop-down buttons across the top to select what you’d like on each line of your signs. If you have that data on your plant pages, the text on the line will fill in automatically. You can always just type in the fields on the right as well.

At any time, you can Save the page and come back later. You can also export the Excel file of your order using the buttons at the bottom of the page. When you are finished, click Save and then export the Excel file and send to the printer.

Many thanks Sasquatch, I will definitely look into this.

You are very welcome! :+1::slightly_smiling_face:
