Plasma? Any support yet?

Thank you for providing your feedback. As mentioned, we do not currently provide full support for plasma cutters. We have this on our list, just not there yet. Once we have more details about these plans, be confident we will share here and through our other communication channels.

I’m pretty sure it does, actually. Natively, by default.
So much so, that’s they’ve added a toggle switch to disable that functionality (“relative Z-move” or something).

Set a negative z-height for a cut, and it will move towards the shape, cut it, move back out, and repeat.

I believe that the correct CNC acronym is ‘Computer Numerical Control’

It is both.

Contouring Numerical Control (CNC) refers to a CNC machining technique where a cutting tool follows a predefined path to cut along curved or irregular surfaces. It’s a sophisticated method used to create complex shapes, molds, dies, and sculptures, often involving simultaneous control of multiple axes. This continuous-path control system is crucial for achieving precise and intricate geometries.

If I remember right, the first CNC’s had calculators before computers. And DC drives with resolvers.

.

The first CNC’s had punch tapes! There’s actually a pretty good video about how that worked by Practical Machinist https://youtu.be/zMg36m4_IWk?si=mDzt1l8vd24gVs0V

I think most of us call that carving.
