Question regarding the Polar 350 coolant system. My power meter has a ‘water drop’ indicator that is always on. Does this mean I have a problem, or that the coolant system is working correctly …which is it? Any thoughts / help on this question is very much appreciated. Incidentally, the machine as a whole works fine and it appears that the coolant is flowing correctly. I did top of the coolant level as it appears that it might have been a little low, but the LED is still lit.
Looks like to me it’s showing circulating liquid which is what you want.
When you fire the laser, is there a similar laser indication symbol?
Good catch …perhaps it’s telling me that the coolant is in fact circulating! And no, no other indications show up. Like I have said previously, the machine is working fine. Thanks!
Typically you’d have some indication of when the laser is firing. So while laser is active, a “laser on” indicator.
For ZYE displays that have text rather than icons you’d for sure expect to see it.
Hi beraiblb, Thanks for the input! It appears my coolant reservoir was just low. Added more and everything works / sounds the way it should. Thanks again!!!
Did the indicator go away after filling the reservoir?
No, there wasn’t any indicator to begin with, other than, what I considered an abnormal sound. I think I should/will invest in a RUDIA (sp?) controller. That would have told where to look in the first place!
If you have a OMTech Polar, it’s got a Ruida… just no machine console.
The photo you posted didn’t look like a Polar. Profile says grbl, post states Polar…?
I meant the water flow indicator that you started the Topic with.
Also, you didn’t originally indicate a problem with a sound so didn’t realize what you were referring to but get it now. Thanks for the clarification.
I just helped install a control panel on a Polar. It’s a bit of a bear but I think worth doing. So much more functional.
