Good morning, a few days ago, out of the blue, my Creality Falcon 2 laser started to enlarge the measurements on the Y axis, for example, if I want to cut 140mm it cuts 145mm, momentarily I fixed it by calibrating the Y axis from the machine console in Lightburn, but if I want to cut 20mm in Y it cuts 19mm but the 140mm are fine, it should be noted that I have already made all the necessary adjustments, does anyone know why it suddenly started doing this?
When you perform calibration it must be performed to the center of the kerf cut, not the outside dimension of a cut. That is why your small dimension is off. When you calibrate to the outside of a cut, you are not considering the width of the laser beam. That particular dimension is the only one that works correctly. If you try 200mm your cut will be too large.
As to why your calibration is off initially, I cannot say.
In the console window type $$ then press enter key. Copy and paste the output here.
$100 & $101 should be the same. 80 is a typical value. I suggest reset $101 to 80 then retest. It’s very likely you have something going on with your Y axis. Slipping pulley, losing steps or something like that.
This will help determine if there is backlash.
Load this file, scale it proportionately to fit your bed and run it at high speed with optomizations turned off and just enough power to get a good mark on cardboard. Any discrepancies from the file will indicate mechanical problems. Upload a photo of the results so we can look with you. BacklashTest.lbrn2 (68.8 KB)
Listo prueba realizada con $101 a 80.000
de igual manera se persiven circulos ovalados cabe señalar que esto solo es mas evidente mientras mas grande es la medida
You have mechanical issues with your machine. Lines that are not parallel, circles that are not closed, and lines that do not meet up my at the ends. Go through your machine looking for loose set screws, loose belts, etc
