Portable CNC Machine with a Laser Welder / Cutter

I bought a Laser Welder with 1500W, and want to use a portable CNC Machine with the Laser.
I am sure that I won’t be able to remotly adjust Laser power, but I should be able to control on/off of the Laser.

I am just not sure if I can control these cnc devices through Lightburn, or how I even create Files for the cnc machine.

Has anyone ever worked with a similar Machine?
What Specifications would I have to look for to get rudimentary workflow with lightburn?

Does it have a USB / Ethernet / WiFi connection to a PC?

If so, then does Windows create a COM port when it connects?

If so, then download the LightBurn trial and see what happens when you try to connect to the machine through that COM port.

Given the proprietary nature of such machines, it’s unlikely to be directly supported by LightBurn, but checking should be straightforward.

I haven’t bought one yet, thought maybe someone has a suggestion which controller might be best.

Ah! I misunderstood how much you bought.

AFAICT, there are no standards for proprietary controllers: each type requires reverse engineering. If the controller isn’t in one of the Ruida / TopWisdom / Leetro / Trocen families, LightBurn can’t handle it.

In the highly unlikely event the controller uses more-or-less standard G-Code, then you could probably use LightBurn’s Custom G-Code device type to get it working.

Finding any specific information about a machine’s controller seems difficult, for reasons that obviously make sense to the seller. :frowning:
