Positioning of media on laser honeycomb bed

Where do you all position the sheet of media you are cutting [Basswood, plastic] etc on the honeycomb base when using ‘precise coordinates’ ? i am new to laser work so easily confused.

Most use absolute coordinates and often have a small edge on the x and y axis in their home position. When you then push a subject towards x-y home, the points that hit the edge are at “0”. , if you have a square, the corner in home will be in “0”.

I usually use “Start from current position” and position the workpiece against whatever edge of the honeycomb that is most convenient, just to be sure it’s square to the laser movement. Then I manually move the laser head to where I want it to start. I ALWAYS frame as a sanity check!
