Prefs.ini FontRecents grows each time LB exits

In prefs.ini, there is a field name FontRecents, which contains a list of fonts and other data. Every time LightBurn exits, it re-saves prefs.init. When it does this, FontRecents grows. Eventually, prefs.init gets so large that LightBurn takes ages to start, like 2-15 minutes. If I then edit prefs.ini and delete all entries in FontRecents, the issue is temporarily resolved; until LB has been exited enough times to grow the field to be an issue again.

I do have a defaultprefs.ini if that makes a difference; we’re a Maker space so want to keep sane default settings. In the past I have removed the FontRecents entries from defaultprefs.ini too, just in case that was related to the underlying issue. However, the seem to come back there too; not sure if LightBurn re-writing defaultprefs.ini too, or whether some other member sometimes updates defaultprefs.init manually, e.g. by copying prefs.ini to it.

I have copies of all the prefs/defaultprefs files with/without this issue if you want; let me know where to upload/send them if you want them.

Thanks.

P.S. still missing Linux support… I was about to change our makerspace machines to Linux right when the announcement came out.

Hi Stephen

Interesting find. Will try to replicate

Could you give us a bit of info on your setup?
OS
Version of LightBurn you are running?

I just upgraded to 1.7.01 and the issue still appears present. This seems to be happening on both PCs attached to our LASER cutters, and I assume the others although the “offline design” PCs get much less LightBurn use so maybe we just haven’t noticed the issues there. Both PCs run Windows 10. We have Ruida/DSP CamFive LASERs.

Hi Stephen

Could it be possible for you to send to support@lightburnsoftware.com
a) Help > Generate support data block
b) the pref.ini and defaultprefs.ini file?

Also if I can ask, the computers are connected to which Laser type machines?

Thanks; I sent that info via email.
