Preparing Image for Engraving

I put together this image, and I traced it in Lightburn, and I have a lot of lines. I’m not sure this is what it’s supposed to look like. I’m new, and I’m not sure what it’s supposed to look like. I was thinking some kind of shading map or something instead of lines. Can someone process this and see if it comes out the same?

Can you post the original image? I will take a try at manipulating it for you.

When you trace it you are changing it to a vector from an image. You will have no shading.

Some Assembly Required.

As Dskal mentions, your image is a RASTER graphic (made up of small blocks of different colors to achieve a color effect) - and trace will change it into a sharp line defined VECTOR graphic. The outline is easy to grab, the feathers not so much.

What is your plan for the engrave? Now we know what you want to engrave, where and how do you want to do it?

Its for leather. It looks pretty good.
