Previous Mac OS versions of lightburn

Hi

Due to the latest version of Lightburn making my Masuter Pro go diddly, Fox Alien have said that several of their customers have had this issue in the latest upgrade and I need to down grade to a previous version. Where will I find this please? It’s for Mac OS.

Many thanks

Hawk

Hi @Hawk1

The Masuter Pro runs standard GRBL 1.1, so it is supported by LightBurn.

If you want to try an earlier version of LightBurn on macOS, all previous builds are kept here:
https://release.lightburnsoftware.com/LightBurn/Release/

On macOS it’s also worth checking the Laser window → Port dropdown. If you only see cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port, the Mac isn’t detecting the controller. Most FoxAlien boards use a CH340/CH341 USB chip, so you may need the driver.

There’s a thread with the Mac driver link here:

Hi Dominic

I’ve attached a screen shot of the laser window, which has always been set like this.

From your screenshot LightBurn is definitely talking to the controller — GRBL 1.1h is responding on cu.usbserial-14620. The error:9 message is GRBL saying it’s in an alarm state. On the Masuter Pro you should be able to clear that by pressing the Home button in LightBurn.

Earlier you mentioned everything went “diddly” after the update — could you describe what changed? Was it movement, connection, or laser output? That’ll help narrow down whether it’s just the alarm state or something more.

It just seems to be going off trying to move somewhere else to where it should be every time I start a new job. See my latest post.
