It’s not fully clear from the video how they’re using the registration marks in that case. It’s at least used for pattern recognition and shape differentiation but not clear if they’re using the additional marks for more complex distortion correction.
I read through a brochure for the Over Cutter Camera and didn’t see any claims about accuracy. They did have a note indicating that their ICC (head mounted) camera would provide higher accuracy. I suspect this is using a similar approach to how lens calibration is done in LightBurn for the pattern recognition plus rotation/scale/distortion correction.
