Print and Cut, Kerf and Open Shapes

Hi there, I’m currently struggling with a larger project using print and cut.

I watched the youtube-tutorial for print&cut. Although I’m also struggling with my lasers accuracy, my main issue is applying the kerf settings on this shape. I have cut it in two pieces like shown in the tutorial, but wondered why the joint with the other pieces got so wobbly. After some hours experimenting and doing test cuts I realized that my kerf settings do not apply to it because it’s an open shape.

So how do I fix this? Is there a way to close that shape but do not print the closing line?

Thanks in advance!

The simplest way to handle this would be to offset the original by however much you want it kerf’d, then cut it up, and turn off the kerf offset on the layer.

Thanks for the quick reply, that seems to work!

Can you tell me which corner style is being used by the layer kerf setting?

The kerf offset produces round corners.
