Print and cut not working twotrees 10w

I am trying to use print and cut to align something larger than my bed can handle. I am following the guide exactly but when I go to realign the project to the registry marks it’s all kinds of off. No matter how I readjust or redo the markings it just is off by a lot. I have had this issue with just using it for one simple page as well. I do have an offset laser which is correctly calibrated, but this is just causing me to waste materials because it will not align to the marks.

I am using a two trees 10w GRBL laswer

Here is the latest version (v1.7) of the support docs. Maybe it will help you get set up for success.

I just read in the article that it says that the laser needs to be properly homed. My laser is not capable of automatically doing this and with the laser offset I am not sure how that works. Anybody have any suggestions on how to properly home a device that does not have automatic homing?

I have been homing the laser to 0,0 using the comands to set it and turned off the offset laser. I am still having things not line up perfectly it’s slightly off. I just can’t seem to figure out what’s going on.

This is my latest attempt it’s still not lining up as you can see. Also when I tell it to go back to origin it doesn’t actually go back to 0,0 , but when I read position it says 0,0. I went ahead and moved it back reset with the G92 X0 Y0 command and it goes back to the position it did earlier which wasn’t the machine origin. I am going to try to realign the laser offset see if that’s my issue

It is possible the laser head moves slightly when sitting idle. To confirm this can happen, a few seconds after commanding a move, see if you can move it by hand with the power still on.

If you can move it at all, try this. In the console window, enter $1=255.

If it is pretty solid and you cannot move it, you might research adding limit switches to your machine.

It seems that properly setting the home function is making it line up correctly. Thank you all for your help.
