Everyone’s favorite topic, I know. I’ve used print and cut on huge projects, up to 8x the width of my laser bed. The past day I’ve had an issue that I don’t know if I’m just overlooking something, or if something changed in the latest update of LB.
I’ve got a piece that I’ve engraved, but the outter cut didn’t go all the way through. Trying to use print and cut but getting the infamous “One or more of your shapes are crossing the edge of the machine workspace”.
I’ve done all the tricks that I know of, and was reminded of when searching other threads on this. I even cleaned the workspace and only have the single cut piece along with my 2 P&C alignment circles. I’ve checked offset/kerf, I’ve tried blowing my workspace up 50%.
I have a hint of what is going on, but not sure what the cause is.
Attachment 1: you see the single piece selected (actually a select all and then the cntl-shift-A to zoom in - which shows nothing else exists in the workspace). You also see the alignment cross-hair-circles at upper-left and lower-right.
2: You see the results of a print-and-cut selection of two points, and doing an alignment non-scale.
Note that I also saved the two absolute locations, and jogs back and forth, as well as home to either of those two points is accurate.
in the 3rd screenshot - I jogged to the saved position in the upper left (use the move “saved position” and then hit and you see the crosshairs of the laser do not line up with the actual P&C circle. I know that P&C has some nuances around some things will accurately reflect and other will not, so not sure if this is as expected.
Either way, this has been driving me crazy - esp since I’ve done 10’ boards with near-max workspace consumption. This should be simple and I don’t know what’s going on. I’m half tempted to go back to an earlier version of LB and see if that helps.
I forgot to mention - if I move the subject to the indicated laser-head marker shown in pic 3, that’s when the object then is above the top of the workspace.
Sure, I’ll humor the ask, as I’m fairly humble in needing help lol. Been an xTool Group top contributor since doing this for 3 years (all on lightburn). Thought maybe something changed, but the settings are the same as yours.
