I am currently trying to run Print and Cut, but every time I run it, some of the cuts are pretty off, no matter how exact I get my laser lined up with the targets. I also have trouble lining up the cut vector file with the actual print, using Lightburn Camera.
I have watched tutorials online, and everyone seems to be having good luck with it, cutting exactly where it is supposed to.
I have measured the printed against its digital version and the cut.svg, and the horizontal measurement is correct, but the vertical measurement is off by a small amount. It measures at 239, when it should be 240.1. I am unsure how to rectify this difference with Lightburn and wonder if it’s the reason my cuts keep being off. Granted, I have tried both scaled and unscaled with bad results.
Do you have any idea what I’m doing wrong? Are my files just set up wrong? The cut files and print files are literally the same, with the printed stickers, which I have blacked out for these purposes, in the exact same spots as the vector.
Another weird thing that I am running into is, I create the cut and print files in Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator, when all objects are selected, states a size of 10.453in in height and 9.217in in width, LightBurn lists the imported file dimensions as 7.9444in wide and 10.4527in high. While the height is slightly off the width is very different. I am not sure how to account for that.
I see the difference in width between my Lightburn and AI. The targets on the left side have a line that extends past the circle. That doesn’t appear in Lightburn. Not sure why.
I’m sorry. My brain didn’t work properly when I was looking at the dimensions. I was measuring from the middle of the circles, not to the edge of the lines, so I was getting the wrong dimensions.
Okay, this is super weird. I confirmed my print.ai and my cut.ai files, and they are the exact same dimensions. When I import cut.ai into LightBurn, the dimensions are listed as 7.9444in by 10.4527in. The length (10.4527in) matches the measurement in Illustrator. However, the width is different, at 6.94in. In my LightBurn with cut.ai, the targets appear to be displayed properly. I could change them, but I don’t think it would make a difference, would it?
They have a tiny square in the middle on C23, with other pieces in C27 and C01.
Knowing how sensitive PnC is to the target structure & position, making all the targets identical with their parts on a single layer may be beneficial.
