While not technically about Lightburn, I figured I’d drop these here for anyone that might find them useful. I quickly whipped up two small tools to 3D print, took 15 minutes @ 0.15mm layer height to print both at the same time. I specifically made these for my XTool D1 Pro 10W, but I would assume it should work for others, such as the 20W module as well.
First is a tool to remove the lens from the laser itself;
Keep in mind to soak the lens in acetone first if it’s the first time you’ve changed it to get rid of the factory glue. You don’t need any glue for replacement lenses.
the dust cap lens is glued into the the housing. unfortunately there is no retaining ring. really should be tho. it seems that the earlier models come with a retaining ring but the replacement caps on the xtool site says its for 5w 10w and 20w and also do not have a retaining ring.
most likely cheaper to get just the glass replacements if one could.
I wouldn’t say it’s earlier models… I’ve had my Xtool D1 Pro about a month now. However, yes, it is cheaper to buy the glass alone. I got some hardened mineral lenses from a watch parts site for $1.43 apiece.
Also, you can always soak off the glue in acetone and either print, or buy a 14mm gasket to use as a spacer to gently hold the lens in place if yours lacks a retainer ring.
