I am considering a Tyvok P2 laser device which is a diode laser but galvo, not gantry. I thought, maybe erroneously, that there were exceptions to the pro license requirement for some galvo devices. I currently have a standard Lightburn license for use on my Longer B1 and loving it. If required, how much is it to upgrade to pro and what are the renewal fees for a pro license. I’m not sure that I’m ready to shell out an additional $100 for a $300 device. This is not to fault Lightburn, by today’s standards it’s a great value as is!
The Tyvok P2 is a GRBL device type, it does not have a BSL or EzCAD controller, thus does not require the Pro upgrade to your key.
@Colin is correct, as usual… However you may find that some expected operations for a galvo are not present using gcode or grbl. Many galvo type options are not standardized gcode.
I don’t know how these different modules work, do you? Does each module have a separate galvo in each module?
Good luck… if in doubt, ask, it’s cheap.

Thanks for the very helpful responses. I’ll be researching the different command lingos used beyond GRBL.
FWIW I have moved on from considering the Tyvok P2. It really only provides two possibilities beyond those of my Longer B1 30 watt, galvo and portability. Im hoping someday I can save up for something like a ComMarker 6 or 12 watt UV laser.
