Hello! I bought a second Gweike fiber laser and received it today. I currently have a G2 Pro 30w and its working great with Lightburn Pro. The new laser is a G2 Pro 50w, I am able to manually add the laser, but Lightburn is unable to make a distinction between them when I try to switch. I have been unable to find a way to assign a USB port to them as well. Any advice? Thank you!
Are you using separate USB ports on the PC for the two lasers? You will be using two instances of Lightburn.
Did you set them up as separate machine Devices in the Laser window? You will be using a USB plug-unplug or switch method for this, and a single instance of Lightburn. This is how I do it for two different machines.
Yes I’m using 2 separate ports, I even added a PCIe USB card so that they dont share the same chip.
I added the 50w manually with the provided config from Gweieke. If I open a second instance of LB and try to select the 50w it still tries to use the 30w. Also if I have a job running on the 30w it will kill that job as soon as I open the second instance of LB.
So you start a job on one machine, then unplug the usb, plug in the second machine and start another job?
Yes. I built a 2-line USB switch to eliminate the unplugging part. I rarely have anything that qualifies as a production run so it works for me.
This is because it starts with the first Device in the list. Not sure how you can tell LB to use a different Prefs file. Mine always starts with the S30 even if the SF-A9 is hooked up and powered on.
