As indicated in topic, attempting to cut more than 1 of same object on 3mm plywood. Using Ortur laser master with Neje 40640.
Getting the following msg.
Alam 3
Reset while in motion. Grbl cannot guarantee position. Lost steps are likely. Re-homing is highly recommended.
From the little info you chose to submit i would say a limit switch was triggered.
What does an alarm 3 mean?
Reset while in motion
Originally the only answer I got was that maybe the power needed to be separated from all others but I have tried that. Could the module be overheating by chance? I have an exhaust fan and using air assist as well.
Not likely.
When does the alarm go off in the process? Does it go off when only doing 1 cut? Describe your process
It’s crazy actually. I may be wrong but it seems that the more and more complicated the cuts I add, the worse the outcome. However, this afternoon I batched out 6 rather simple cuts and after that I attempted 2 cuts that were a bit more complicated but not by much and I had a fail near the end of the first to be cut. It went downhill from there and I got frustrated so I shut it down. Could the rubber tracks be stretching and causing this? The machine is a couple of years old come Christmas.
Did you get my last reply?
I can see how this is frustrating to say the least.
It is not a hardware fail - the alarm state is triggered by an electrical impulse, so if not from a limit or reset switch then from something else…
I suspect electrical noise triggering the soft reset pin - I would try, if at all possible, running the laser on its own breaker circuit. So unplug everything (!) from all the electrical outputs on one breaker circuit, and only run the laser o this, the pc on another. Make sure no lightswitches are touched. (the refridgerator compressor turning on and off could make enough noise to affect this). If this has positive effect, you may want to look into grounding your hardware, to further reduce electrical noise.
and last - make sure you are using a usb cable of high quality, as short as possible.
If none of this helps, I am totally out of ideas.
