Problem cutting on some lines

Hello. I’ve got Falcon 10w laser that has been doing some strange things. I’m using 6mm MDF for this. Material is perfectly flat.

I’ve been cutting this model for a while now, and one line simply won’t cut, no matter how I turn the model, no matter the speed or number of passes. It simply goes like half way only.

Every other line is cut through, except some very sharp edges, but I can easily finish the cut with a sharp knife. It’s not a big deal.

And even the one that’s parallel to the marked line is cut perfectly, which is strange.

I would understand if all lines on that axis are not cut, but that’s not the case here.

I’m out of ideas what would be the reason for this.

Can you upload the .lbrn file for review and a photo of the resulting burn?

For photo, I already cleaned up the model, but one thing that’s different from other lines, when you look from the front side (the one facing laser) is that it’s thicker. On the other side, the cut stops right at the beginning and the end of the line.

Here’s the lbrn2 file tho…

I don’t see too much unusual in the .lbrn file. Any particular reason you’re using “Constant Power Mode”?

This implies that the issue is likely on the laser or material side. I suspect what’s happening is that you’ve tuned the overall burn using Constant Power Mode but with the acceleration/deceleration of that particular line it’s not making it through. I’d suggest disabling Constant Power Mode and retuning the settings. That should hopefully keep things more consistent.

Outside of that you could attempt a few other tests:

  1. If you only burn the shape that the line is a part of, without the rest of the design, does it cut?
  2. If you rotate the design by 45 degrees does that change the result?

I’ll try cutting only that part, and see if it makes any difference, will try both constant power mode on and off just to see what’s going to happen. Thanks for the ideas!
