Problem importing svg

I have a bunch of .svg files that I use on my CO2 laser and XCS with no problem but when I import them into Lightburn and try to use them with my fiber laser they import as 4000 individual lines. I tried grouping them but when I try to engrave it, I have to wait for it to process all 4000 lines. I have lightburn, a mac laptop, monport 50w fiber, attempting to engrave a tumbler. Software set to chuck and rotate. After 20 minutes it still had not finished processing all the lines. I just exited out

Select all items and then auto join selected shapes

There are most likely a bunch of duplicated lines, also. Delete Duplicates command under the EDIT menu.

Thanks. It says there are no duplicates.

Auto join is not an option I can select.

Post your file here and we can take a look at what the problem is without having to go through 100"s of question/answer evolutions

Thanks for that screenshot, but what I am asking for is the raw file you are trying to open in lightburn and/or the lightburn work file where you are seeing the problem.

Use this little button to open the Upload File window…

I did and that is what happened. I tired once before and then deleted the comment. I must not have permission to upload actual files. It just does an image of any file I try to upload.

You didn’t do anything wrong. For some reason when you upload an SVG file the forum software embeds it instead of attaching it. We just need to right-click the image and we can save it as SVG.

Thanks for setting me straight, Marcus. I learned something new today

I don’t have any problem on 1.7 setup for my diode. I will step back and let the LB gurus tackle the issue.

Can you confirm the settings you are using?
Have you tried to BOOLEAN WELD the image? See if you can select the enitre object and Un-group it all the way back to single items (ungroup as far as it will go…)

Then select the whole thing again and instead of GROUP, use this button:

So I ungrouped as far as it would let me and then clicked that button you have highlighted. Then tried to run the engraving again and it went from 4001 slices to 6159 slices and as you can see from this photo it would take around 12 minutes to process all that. I even tried to reload lightburn and import the file again to start fresh.

Sorry I can’t help you more, the difference between fiber and diode lasers has me stumped.

Thanks for trying.
