Problem of engraving on Denim

Hello,
I have a problem with the engraving in filling, I have a black mark at the end of each stroke and this results in the fabric being cut when I just want to mark it (see photo).
I can’t find the cause and the correct setting in LightBurn.

Thanks for your help

What controller does your machine have?
SEems to me you are using M3 mode where you need M4 mode (if you are in GRBL controller)

The laser is enabled with the M3 spindle or M4 spindle commands. These enable two different laser modes that are advantageous for different reasons each.

M3 Constant Laser Power Mode

Constant laser power mode simply keeps the laser power as programmed, regardless if the machine is moving, accelerating, or stopped. This provides better control of the laser state. This can lead to more consistent cuts in more difficult materials.

M4 Dynamic Laser Power Mode (new in grbl v1.1)

While performing an engraving job, the laser head must constantly accelerate and decelerate to follow direction changes . With M3 mode this can cause more severe burns where the laser slows down.

Good morning,
in lightburn I have this
lightburn

Extremely old version of Lightburn, would recommend updating

However, before updating the controller settings I need to know what controller you have

Type in console - when connected - $i
press enter
And copy/paste the full contents here

Of if you have a Off the shelf machine - what model/brand would help

the controller on my control board is in :

my card

You could try to do this, but uncertain if it would work

Double click your controller where it says GRBL-M3

change it to the GRBL (top of the list)
click ok to the end

Console type $$

check $30 $31 $32
If Svalue max is 1000
Go to edit → device settings
Svalue max change it to 1000

Then retry engrave

If it gives you a console error right away about M4 not enabled than your controller is too old and there is really no way to fix the problem.

All right, I’ll give it a try and let you know the result.
Thanks a lot

FYI: this is a table designed by me, not a commercial model.

Does not matter. It is the controller board that needs to be recent, and it looks like yours is running GRBL 1.1h, which is fairly recent. I am pretty sure the plain GRBL will work just fine. Don’t sue me if I am wrong.

$30=1000
$31=0
$32=1

you been served!

Hello,
Thanks again for your advice.
I chose GRBL and modified the lines in the console.
The first tests worked perfectly

Thank you again for your good feedback

Sincerely

Fantastic news!
Have a good weekend
