Problem with Docking palettes to Right of Workspace

This is the key reason we changed scan to fill and cut to line, just trying to help with understanding. The old names were leftover from the Ruida RDWorks naming convention, which was the root of our efforts. We find new users do better with the new wording.

Hopefully, not any directly from us, officially. We have cleaned out most, that I am aware of, but as for the entire interwebs…hard to wash all that other content out. If you see any leftovers in our content, please point them out, and we will address. There may still be a few of our early videos showing the old wording, and those are targeted for redo.

One reference that comes to mind is the use of scan angle in the fill settings. I also see people use the term info the forums. Can’t specifically recall and formal documentation that references it.

The settings dialog for the fill does say “Scan angle”, but “Fill angle” doesn’t make as much sense to me. (I’m honestly not sure it needs the prefix - “Angle” might be enough)

If the display is low enough resolution to require the different layout, side-by-side is going to be taking up a lot of design area, so tabbed windows are a better use of space. That said, the user can rearrange the windows however they like, and the software remembers the layout - It’s not necessary to keep the initial layout we provide.

I noted that there is a new version of Lightburn available. Since this is my first update, I was curious about an update changing the layout. I assume as you mentioned, that in doing an update, the software will remember the layout as it was before the update takes place?? Also, to do an update, does one just run the new version .exe file and that’s it?

From what I’ve seen updates try to keep everything the same as you had it setup. I suppose if there was a feature change that necessitated a significant change to a window that might not hold but I’ve never really noticed. Granted I hold fairly closely to the default layout.

As for the update, just download the update, make sure you shutdown any running instances, and run the new download.

Thanks brainlb!
